Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Udder Delights Australia Pty Ltd, a Hahndorf, South Australia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of various White Mould Cheeses due to suspected Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following White Mould Cheese products are subject to this recall (in alphabetical order):

  • Cremeux Provincial Cheese Brie, sold in 200 gram packages with best-before date codes ranging from 29JAN20 up to and including 05FEB20
  • Cremeux Provincial Cheese Camembert, sold in 200 gram packages with best-before date codes ranging from 29JAN20 up to and including 05FEB20
  • Cremeux Provincial Cheese Double Brie, sold in 200 gram packages with best-before date codes ranging from 29JAN20 up to and including 05FEB20
  • Divine Dairy Organic Brie, sold in 200 gram packages with best-before date codes ranging from 29JAN20 up to and including 05FEB20
  • Divine Dairy Organic Double Cream Brie, sold in 200 gram packages with best-before date codes ranging from 29JAN20 up to and including 05FEB20
  • Eureka Camembert, sold in 200 gram packages with best-before date codes ranging from 29JAN20 up to and including 05FEB20
  • Shale Point Double Cream Camembert, sold in 200 gram packages with best-before date codes ranging from 29JAN20 up to and including 05FEB20
  • Udder Delights Ash Brie, sold in 200 gram packages with best-before date codes ranging from 29JAN20 up to and including 05FEB20
  • Udder Delights Brie, sold in 200 gram packages with best-before date codes ranging from 29JAN20 up to and including 05FEB20
  • Udder Delights Camembert, sold in 200 gram packages with best-before date codes ranging from 29JAN20 up to and including 05FEB20
  • Udder Delights Double Cream Brie, sold in 200 gram packages with best-before date codes ranging from 29JAN20 up to and including 05FEB20

According to the ACCC, this recall is due to E. coli contamination. Food products contaminated with E. coli may cause illness if consumed. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled White Mould Cheeses identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Udder Delight White Mould Cheese products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
