US FlagUS/Washington: Ezzo Sausage Company, a Columbus, Ohio establishment, recalls an estimated 25,115 pounds of various branded Sausage products due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Sausage products were produced on October 29, 2019, October 30, 2019 and November 5, 2019 and are subject to this recall:

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and wholesale presentation. Additional images of the recalled Sausage products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 1838A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to distribution centers in Indiana and Ohio.

The problem was discovered when the firm notified US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) of a positive sample result for Listeria monocytogenes. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Sausage products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Sausage products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisoning such as Listerosis.
