US FlagUS/Washington: Padrino Foods, LLC, an Irving, Texas establishment, recalls an estimated 1,931 pounds of Padrino Foods Beef & Sirloin Tamales Homestyle in Corn Husks products due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Pork, all known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Beef Tamale products were produced on May 8, 2019 and are subject to this recall:

  • Padrino Foods Beef & Sirloin Tamales Homestyle in Corn Husks, sold in 60-ounce packages with a batch/lot code of 2128903 and a sell-by date 12-27-19

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 13136” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were sold at retail locations in Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

The problem was discovered by a customer who notified the firm of the misbranding error.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Beef Tamales products and could be allergic to their Pork ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
