Additional information:

Among the nineteen (19) recalls the NHTSA announced this month comes news of the following:

Logo - PeterbiltPACCAR Incorporated (“PACCAR”), a Bellevue, Washington establishment, has recalled an estimated 248 model year 2020 Peterbilt 579 Trucks equipped with a sleeper box marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 19V733000 reports the conspicuity tape may have been installed in the incorrect location, affecting the vehicle’s visibility to other drivers on the road. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

According to the NHTSA, reduced visibility increases the risk of a crash.

PACCAR will notify registered owners, and dealers will install additional conspicuity tape on back of sleeper in correct location, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 13, 2019. Owners may contact PACCAR customer service at 1-940-591-4220 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”)”). PACCAR’s designation for this recall is 19PBE.
