US FlagUS/Washington: Skacel Collection Inc., a Seattle, Washington establishment, recalls an estimated 270 FlipStix branded Knitting Needles due to suspected component detachment and consequential risk of laceration, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain US 6 (4.0mm diameter) FlipStix in 6″ and 8″ long Knitting Needles.

  • The recalled Knitting Needles have aluminum shafts that are tapered at both ends. The long shaft holds the active (unsecured) stitches of the fabric, to prevent them from unravelling, whereas the tapered ends are used to form new stitches. The Knitting Needles were sold in blue, red and yellow combination packages. There are five needles per pack.

According to the CPSC, the shaft of the Knitting Needles can split or burst, posing a laceration hazard. The firm has received three (3) reports of the Needle shafts splitting. No injuries have been reported.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled FlipStix branded Knitting Needles, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund in the form of a store voucher.
