UK FlagUK/London: Co-op Limited, a Birmingham, West Midlands establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Bakery Short Crust Mince Pies due to undeclared Barley (Gluten), a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Mince Pie products are subject to recall:

  • Co-op Bakery Short Crust Mince Pie, sold in 4-packs; affected best-before dates: all date codes up to and including 6 November 2019

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional images of the recalled Mince Pie products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FSA, this recall was initiated due to undeclared Barley (Gluten).

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Mince Pies and could be allergic to their Barley (Gluten) ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Mince Pies, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Pies to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
