Canada/Ottawa: Taza Food Products Ltd., a Mississauga, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Taza Chat Papdi Gram Flour Snacks due to undeclared Wheat, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Flour Snack food products are subject to this recall:

  • Taza branded Chat Papdi – Gram Flour Snacks, sold in 360 gram packages with best-before date codes of 20FE20 and 20JL07 with a UPC of 8 96546 00089 1

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the CFIA, Taza Food Products Ltd. has recalled certain batch/lots of Taza branded Chat Papdi Gram Flour Snacks from the Canadian marketplace because they contains Wheat, an ingredient not declared on the food product label. People who have an allergy to Wheat, or have Celiac Disease or other Gluten-related disorders should not consume the recalled Snack products identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Chat Papdi – Gram Flour Snacks and could be allergic to their Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
