Canada/Ottawa: Drake Meats, a Drake, Saskatchewan establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of ready-to-eat Drake Meats branded Salami (Chub) products due to suspected undercooking and/or underprocessing with consequential risk of bacterial or viral infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Salami Meat products are subject to this recall:

  • Drake Meats branded Salami (Chub), sold in one (1) kilogram packages with best-before codes of BB/MA NOV/24/2019 or BB\MA DEC/01/2019 and a UPC of 7 71327 12244 6

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Salami Meat products can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Drake Meats has recalled certain batch/lots of ready-to-eat Drake Meats branded Salami (Chub) products due to suspected undercooking. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Salami identified above.

==> For information about Botulism, E. Coli Poisoning, Listeriosis (Listeria poisoning) or Salmonellosis (Salmonella poisoning), please consult the “Illnesses” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Salami Meat products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial OR viral poisonings such as Botulism, Listeriosis or Salmonellosis.
