US FlagUS/Washington: OSI Industries, LLC, a Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin establishment, recalls an estimated 4,218 pounds of ready-to-eat Char-Broiled branded Beef Patty products due to suspected metal fragment contamination and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Beef Patty products were produced on August 10, 2019 are now subject to this recall:

  • Frozen, Ready-To-Eat Char-Broiled Beef Patties (Caramel Color added), sold in 38-lb. bulk lined boxes with a batch/lot code of 22219

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Beef Patty products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 1300” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to firms that further process the Beef product in Iowa and Wisconsin. The problem was discovered during further processing activities at another federal establishment. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Beef Patty products identified above.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Beef Patty products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
