Additional information:

Among the forty-six (46) recalls the NHTSA has announced this October comes news of the following:

Logo - Daimler Trucks North AmericaDaimler Trucks North America LLC (“DTNA”), a Portland, Oregon establishment and a subsidiary of Daimler AG, has recalled an estimated 5,626 model year 2018-2019 Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

US NHTSA Safety Notification 19V737000 reports the screw connection on the upper hood catch may have been improperly tightened in the recalled vehicles. As a result, factors including the vehicle’s speed, wind resistance and road conditions may cause the hood to open while the vehicle is being driven.

According to the NHTSA, a hood that opens while driving can reduce the driver’s visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

DTNA will notify registered owners and dealers will inspect the screw connection, tightening it as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin November 1, 2019. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-877-762-8267 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). DTNA’s designation for this recall is VS3HAUBOSS.
