US FlagUS/Washington: MawMaw’s Chicken Pies, a Kernersville, North Carolina establishment, recalls undetermined amount of Mawmaw’s branded Chicken Pie and Meatloaf products due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risk of undeclared Milk and Soy, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the recalled not-ready-to-eat Chicken Pie and Meatloaf items were produced between September 17, 2019 to October 16, 2019 and are designed to have a one-year shelf life and are subject to this recall:

  • Mawmaw’s branded Chicken Pies No Veggies, sold in 10-ounce shrink wrapped packages with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20
  • Mawmaw’s branded Chicken Pies with Veggies, sold in 10-ounce shrink wrapped packages containing with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20
  • Mawmaw’s branded Chicken Pies No Veggies Mawmaw’s Kickin’ Chicken, sold in shrink wrapped packages containing with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20
  • Mawmaw’s branded Chicken Pies No Veggies, sold in 33-ounce shrink wrapped packages with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20
  • Mawmaw’s branded Chicken Pies With Veggies, sold in 33-ounce shrink wrapped packages with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20
  • Mawmaw’s branded Chicken Pies No Veggies Mawmaw’s Kickin’ Chicken, sold in 33-ounce shrink wrapped packages with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20
  • MawMaw’s branded Meatloaf, sold in one (1)-pound shrink wrapped, aluminum trays with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 46456” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in North Carolina.

The problem was discovered by US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) inspectors during routine label verification activities. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Chicken and Meatloaf identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Mawmaw’s branded Chicken Pies and Meatloaf products and could be allergic to their Milk and/or Soy ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
