Additional information:

Among the twenty-nine (29) recalls the NHTSA has announced this October comes news of the following:

Logo - Subaru of AmericaSubaru of America, Inc. (“Subaru”), a Camden, New Jersey establishment and a subsidiary of Subaru Corporation of Japan, has recalled an estimated 366,282 model 2015-2018 Subaru Forester vehicles equipped with heated seats marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

US NHTSA Safety Notification 19V701000 reports an electrical connection in the front passenger seat for the Occupant Detection System (“ODS”) may loosen.

According to the NHTSA, if the connection loosens, the front passenger airbag in the recalled vehicles may deactivate even though the seat is occupied, increasing the risk of injury to the front passenger in the event of a crash.

Subaru will notify registered owners and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, replace the ODS sensor mat harness, free of charge. Parts for this recall are not currently available. Owners will be notified of the recall beginning November 29, 2019, and will receive a second notice when remedy parts are available. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). Subaru’s designation for this recall is WUM-98.
