The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Frozen Chicken Salad Sandwiches are subject to this recall:

  • Tuscan Sun branded Bacon Ranch Chicken Salad Sandwiches on 9 Grain Bread, sold with product codes ranging from A11 to E39, a distribution date range of 3/11/2019 to 9/27/2019 and a UPC of 4370101417
  • Tuscan Sun branded Cranberry Chicken Salad Sandwiches on 9 Grain Bread, sold with product codes ranging from A11 to E39, a distribution date range of 3/11/2019 to 9/27/2019 and a UPC of 4370101414
  • Tuscan Sun branded Chipolte Chicken Salad Sandwiches on 9 Grain Bread, sold with product codes ranging from A11 to E39, a distribution date range of 3/11/2019 to 9/27/2019 and a UPC of 4370101415

According to the FDA, Jumbo Foods Inc began shipping these frozen or refrigerated sandwiches products between March 11, 2019 and September 27, 2019. The Frozen Sandwiches have no sell-by or use-by date printed on packages and have eight (8) month shelf lives. Frozen products will be thawed, and the expiry dates are applied at stores. Refrigerated Sandwiches distributed by Jumbo Foods have 28 day shelf life and the sell-by or use-by date stickers are observed on packages.

This recall was initiated after The Suter Company, a supplier of Poultry products, issued a recall of certain ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Poultry products used in these Sandwiches that may been adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Chicken Sandwich products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chicken Salad Sandwiches, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Sandwiches to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
