US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Lipari Foods, LLC, a Warren, Michigan establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Premo and Fresh Grab branded Ham & Cheese Wedge Sandwiches due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Sandwich products are subject to this recall:

  • Fresh Grab branded Wedge Ham & Cheese On Wheat Sandwiches, sold in 4/5 ounce packages with a Lipari code number of 252646, a batch/lot designation of 24201909, a best-before date of 10/17/19 and a UPC of 612510002001
  • Premo branded Wedge Ham & Cheese On Wheat Sandwiches, sold in 4/5 ounce packages with a Lipari code number of 915509, a batch/lot designation of 24201909, a best-before date of 10/17/19 and a UPC of 612510002001

According to the FDA, this notification expands an existing recall made on or around 10/2/19 to include one (1) batch/lot of Ham & Cheese Wedge Sandwiches produced by JLM Manufacturing due to potential contamination of Listeria monocytogenes. You can see our coverage of the earlier recall here:

The product was distributed exclusively by Lipari Foods to food service and retail stores throughout the states of Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Sandwiches, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Sandwiches to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
