US NHTSA Recalls: Mercedes-Benz A, CLA & GLC Vehicles

Among the sixteen (16) recalls the NHTSA has announced this October comes news of the following:

Logo - Mercedes-Benz USAMercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (“MBUSA”), a subsidiary of Daimler AG and a Sandy Springs, Georgia establishment, has recalled an estimated 2,215 model year 2019-2020 A 220 and A 220 4MATIC, 2020 CLA 250, CLA 250 4 MATIC, GLC 300 Coupe 4MATIC, GLC 300 and GLC 300 4MATIC vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

US NHTSA Safety Notification 19V685000 reports the driver’s side front airbag modules may not have been properly bolted down in the recalled vehicles.

According to the NHTSA, in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver’s front airbag, the airbag may not deploy properly, increasing the risk of injury.

MBUSA will notify registered owners, and dealers will inspect the driver airbag module and replace it, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin November 26, 2019. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). There is no designation listed for this recall.
