UK FlagUK/London: Waitrose, a London, England establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Waitrose branded Sour Cream and Chive Mix products due to undeclared Wheat, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Dressing Mix products are subject to recall:

  • Waitrose branded Sour Cream and Chive Mix, sold in 150 gram bags with a best-before date of 21 December 2019

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Waitrose has recalled certain batch/lots of Waitrose branded Sour Cream and Chive Mix products because they contain Wheat, an ingredient not declared on the product label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to Gluten or Wheat.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Waitrose branded Sour Cream and Chive Mixes products and could be allergic to their Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to handle Anaphylaxis.
