Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Children’s Bibs are subject to this recall:

  • IKEA MATVRÅ Children’s Bibs, sold in packages of two (2) Bibs, one blue and one red, both with snap button closures (so-called, “press” studs) with an IKEA product code of 90426923

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Children’s Bibs can be found on the Web site above.

According to the ACCC, the snap button on the MATVRÅ Children’s Bibs may detach from the Bib. If this defect occurs, the snap button can become detached from the Bib and poses both choking and/or ingestion hazards.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled MATVRÅ Children’s Bibs, please do not use them nor dress your child in them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund or exchange for a similar product. Proof of purchase (i.e., a receipt) is not required.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking and/or ingestion injuries.
