US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Ample Hills Manufacturing, a Brooklyn, New York establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Ample Hills Creamery branded Peppermint Pattie Ice Cream products due to undeclared Peanuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Ice Cream products are subject to this recall:

  • Ample Hills Creamery branded Peppermint Pattie Ice Cream, sold in half-pint (8 ounce | 236 ml) tubs with a batch/lot of 19169 and a best-by date of 6/18/20

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, the recall was initiated after it was discovered that Peppermint Pattie Ice Cream sold with a batch/lot code of 19169 contained Peanut Allergen was inadvertently discovered in a tub packaging that did not reveal the presence of Peanuts.

The recalled Ice Cream products were distributed in Ample Hills Creamery Scoop Shops in the following areas: Los Feliz, California; Aventura, Florida; and the below Ample Hills East Coast Scoop Locations (in alphabetical order):

  • Astoria, Queens, New York
  • Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn, New York
  • Bubby’s Highline, Manhattan, New York
  • Chelsea, Manhattan, New York
  • Dekalb Market Hall, Downtown Brooklyn, New York
  • Fire Boat House, Dumbo Brooklyn, New York
  • Gotham West Market, Manhattan, New York
  • Gowanus, Brooklyn, New York
  • Jersey City, New Jersey
  • Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, New York
  • Red Hook, Brooklyn, New York
  • Riis Park – Beach Bazar, Queens, New York
  • Riis Park – The Bathhouse, Queens, New York

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Peppermint Pattie Ice Cream products and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
