US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Super World Trading Inc., a Brooklyn, New York establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Dried Dates due to undeclared Sulfites, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Dried Date products are subject to this recall:

  • Dried Dates, sold in 12-ounce clear plastic bags with a UPC of 6907419100588. The recalled Dried Dates were packed by Fang Run Packaging Co. and distributed by Super World Trading Inc.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Dried Dates can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, the recall was initiated after it was discovered that Dried Dates containing Sulfites were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of Sulfites.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Dried Dates and could be allergic to their Sulfite ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dried Dates, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Dates to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
