Additional information:

Among the 67 recalls the NHTSA announced this past month comes news of the following:

Daimler Trucks North America LLCDaimler Trucks North America LLC (“DTNA”), a subsidiary of Daimler AG and a Portland, Oregon establishment, has recalled an estimated 594 model year 2019 Mercedes-Benz branded Metris Vans marketed, sold and delivered in the United States

Logo - Mercedes-BenzNHTSA Safety Notification 19V666000 reports the head restraint of the seat or seat back in the recalled Metris Vans may have been fitted without a spring pin or a spring pin that was improperly mounted.

According to the NHTSA, without a crash pad, rear seat passengers would have an increased risk of injury in the event of a side impact crash. The incorrectly mounted or missing spring pins can cause the upholstery carrier to come loose from the head restraint housing. If this defect occurs, it can increase the risk of an injury in the event of a crash.

DVUSA will notify registered owners, and Mercedes-Benz dealers will replace the head restraints, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”). DVUSA’s designation for this recall is VS2KOPFSTU.
