Additional information:

Among the 67 recalls the NHTSA has announced this September comes news of the following:

Logo - Merceded-BenzMercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (“MBUSA”), a subsidiary of Daimler AG and a Sandy Springs, Georgia establishment has recalled an estimated 1,478 model year 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 4MATIC and Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety notification 19V664000 reports the owner’s manuals in the recalled vehicles do not include information regarding the adjustment of the head restraints of the third row seats. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 202a, “Head Restraints.”

According to the NHTSA, improperly adjusted head restraints increase the risk of injury to the third row seat passengers in the event of a crash.

MBUSA will notify registered owners, and dealers will provide a supplementary owner’s manual booklet with the necessary information, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin November 8, 2019. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”).
