Additional information:

Among the 55 recalls the NHTSA has announced this September comes news of the following:

Ford Motor CompanyFord Motor Company (“Ford”), a Dearborn, Michigan establishment, has recalled an estimated 2,624 model year 2019 Ford Fiesta vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 19V629000 reports the brake calipers in the recalled vehicles may have been manufactured with the incorrect assembly fluid. If this defect occurs, it can cause the caliper’s rubber seals to swell.

According to the NHTSA, swollen seals can cause the brakes to drag, potentially overheating the brakes and increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify registered owners and dealers will flush the brake fluid and replace the front brake calipers and brake hoses, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin October 7, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). Ford’s designation for this recall is 19S27.
