Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Randsland Farms Inc., a Delhaven, Nova Scotia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Randsland branded Super Salad Kits and Randsland branded Kale products due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Salad and Vegetable products are subject to this recall:

  • Randsland branded Super Salad Kits, sold in 454 gram clear plastic cello bags with product codes of 2919071 and 100119 and a UPC of 0 57225 00005 6
  • Randsland branded Kale, sold in 340 gram clear plastic cello bags with product codes of 2919071 and 100119 with a UPC of 0 57225 00006 3

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Salad and Vegetable products can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Randsland Farms Inc. has recalled certain batch/lots of Randsland branded Super Salad Kit and Randsland branded Kale from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Salad and Vegetable products identified above.

This products were known to be distribution in three (3) Canadian provinces and territories: specifically, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Salad and Vegetable products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
