US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Roland Foods, LLC a New York, New York establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Red Lumpfish Caviar and Black Lumpfish Caviar products due to suspected risk of Clostridium botulinum contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Lumpfish Caviar products are subject to this recall:

The Roland branded Red Lumpfish Caviar and Black Lumpfish Caviar, sold in glass jars, were distributed nationwide to retailers and foodservice distributors across the United States, as follows:

  • Roland Black Caviar Whole Grain Lumpfish, sold with an item 20002 with a batch/lot of 206 and a UPC of 41224200029
  • Roland Black Caviar Whole Grain Lumpfish, sold with an item 20004 with batch/lots of J018803, J019622 and J020834 and a UPC of 41224200029
  • Roland Black Caviar Whole Grain Lumpfish, sold with an item 20020 with a batch/lot of 226 and a UPC of 41224200203
  • Roland Black Caviar Whole Grain Lumpfish, sold with an item 20040 with a batch/lot of 223 and a UPC of 41224200401
  • Roland Red Caviar Whole Grain Lumpfish, sold with an item 20202 with batch/lots of 154 and 155 and a UPC of 41224202023
  • Roland Red Caviar Whole Grain Lumpfish, sold with an item 20204 with batch/lots of J018821 and J020767 and a UPC of 41224202023
  • Roland Red Caviar Whole Grain Lumpfish, sold with an item 20220 with a batch/lot of 168 and a UPC of 41224202207
  • Roland Red Caviar Whole Grain Lumpfish, sold with an item 20240 with a batch/lot of 175 and a UPC of 41224202405

According to the FDA, the Red Lumpfish Caviar and Black Lumpfish Caviar, sold in glass jars, were distributed nationwide to retailers and foodservice distributors across the United States. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Caviar identified above.
