US FlagUS/Silver Spring: General Mills, a Golden Valley, Minnesota establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Gold Medal branded Unbleached All Purpose Flour products due to suspected risk of Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) O26 contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following All Purpose Flour products are subject to this recall:

  • Gold Medal branded Unbleached All Purpose Flour, sold in five-pound bags with a better-if-used-by date of September 6, 2020, a batch/lot code of 06SEP2020KC and a UPC of 016000 196100

According to the FDA, General Mills has recalled certain five-pound bags of its Gold Medal Unbleached All Purpose Flour with a better-if-used-by date of September 6, 2020. The recall is being issued for the potential presence of E. coli O26 that was discovered during sampling of the five-pound bag product. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled All Purpose Flour products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled All Purpose Flour products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Flour to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
