US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Stark Group International, a Greenvale, New York establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Ritter Sport branded Kaffeesplitter Chocolate Bar products due to undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chocolate Bar products are subject to this recall:

  • Ritter Sport branded Kaffeesplitter Chocolate Bars, sold in 3.5-ounce (~100 gram) brown plastic packages with a UPC of 000417 927002.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Ritter Sport Kaffeesplitter Chocolate Bar products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of Milk allergens, an ingredient that was not declared on the product label.

The recalled Chocolate Bar products were known to be distributed US nationwide.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Chocolate Bar products and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
