UK FlagUK/London:  Struik Foods, a Nijkerk Gld, Netherlands establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Bunlimited Crispy Onions sold at ASDA Stores Limited, an Atherstone, Warwickshire establishment, due to suspected metal fragment contamination and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Crispy Onion products are subject to recall:

  • Bunlimited Crispy Onions, sold in 100 gram tubs with a best-before date code of 2020-06-11

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the FSA, Struik Foods has recalled certain Bunlimited Crispy Onions because they may contain Metal Fragments. The presence of Metal makes this food product unsafe to eat. The product is sold in ASDA stores. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Crispy Onion products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Crispy Onions, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Onions to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and/or GI tract laceration damage.
