US FlagUS/Washington: GreatCall Inc., of San Diego, California establishment, recalls an estimated 44,300 Lively Mobile Plus Emergency Alert Devices due to suspected operational failure during an emergency, a serious safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves Lively Mobile Plus model GCR4 Emergency Alert Devices manufactured between January and April 2019, as follows:

  • The recalled Alert Devices are silver and black and have the brand, “GreatCall” printed near the top of the front of the device. The model number GCR4 can be found on the back and the date code of “19.01” or “19.03” is printed on the bar code label of the Device.

The recalled Alert Device is worn on a magnetic lanyard around a person’s neck for fall detection but can also be worn clipped onto a purse, belt or pocket, and is used to communicate in an emergency or for other assistance.

According to the CPSC, the call button on the Emergency Alert Devices can fail when pushed by the owner during an emergency.
