US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Brutus & Barnaby LLC, a Clearwater, Florida establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of Brutus & Barnaby Pig Ear Treats for Dogs due to suspected risk of Salmonella contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Brutus & Barnaby Pig Ear Treats for Dogs are subject to this recall:

  • Brutus & Barnaby Pig Ear Treats for Dogs, sold in four bag-sizes:
    • 8-count bags
    • 12-count bags
    • 25-count bags
    • 100-count bags

According to the FDA, the recalled Pig Ear Dog Treats were Pig Ears were distributed throughout all states via Amazon.com, Chewy.com, Brutusandbarnaby.com and the brick and mortar Natures Food Patch in Clearwater, Florida.

The distribution of these products may be related to the potential Salmonella contamination noted during an ongoing FDA investigation of Salmonella illness across the United States in both humans and pets.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm pet food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Pig Ear Treats, please do not feed them to your pet(s). Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. Wash down all prep surfaces, serving implements and serving bowls with a bleach/water mixture; rinse well with lots of hot soapy water.
