US FlagUS/Washington: Bakkavor Foods USA, Inc., a San Antonio, Texas establishment, recalls an estimated 1,913 pounds of ready-to-eat (“RTE”) H-E-B branded Chicken Salad products due to suspected risk of mislabeling and consequential undeclared Pecan Nuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken Salad products are subject to this recall:

  • Simply Eat H-E-B Meal Simple Curry Chicken Salads, sold with a best by date of 08/28/2019

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the USDA, the H-E-B branded Chicken Salad products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-46445” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to a chain of retail grocery locations in Texas. The problem was discovered by the company during a review of production records.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled H-E-B branded Chicken Salad products products and could be allergic to their Pecan Nut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
