Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Reuven International Ltd, a Toronto, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Reuven International Ltd branded Natural Proportion Cooked Chicken Meat (Diced) and Sysco branded Natural Proportions Cooked Shredded Chicken due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Cooked Diced Chicken Meat products are subject to this recall:

  • Reuven International Ltd. branded Natural Proportion Cooked Chicken Meat (Diced), sold in 4.54 kilogram (~10 pound) packages with a batch/lot designation of 15307, a pack-date of 01/21/19 and a UPC of 907 63572 15307 1
  • Reuven International Ltd. branded Natural Proportion Cooked Chicken Meat (Diced), sold in 4.54 kilogram (~10 pound) packages with a batch/lot designation of 15307, a pack-date of 01/21/19 and a UPC of 907 63572 15807 6
  • Sysco branded Natural Proportions Cooked Shredded Chicken, sold in 4.54 kilogram (~10 pound) packages with a batch/lot designation of 15307, a pack-date of 01/21/19 and a UPC of UPC of 007 34730 21450 4

According to the CFIA, Reuven International Ltd has recalled the above batch/lots of Reuven International Ltd branded Natural Proportion Cooked Chicken Meat (Diced) and Sysco branded Natural Proportions Cooked Shredded Chicken from the Canadian marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Chicken products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Cooked Diced Chicken Meat products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store or other outlet where you purchased them for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to handle bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
