Awers Salmon Caviar Recall Expands [US]

US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Awers, Inc., a Bellevue, Washington establishment, expands its existing recall for certain best-before date codes of ИKPA (Cyrillic characters) branded Grained Salmon Caviar products to include additional date codes of the product. The original recall was due to suspected risk of Clostridium botulinum contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Seafood Fish Egg products are subject to this recall:

  • ИKPA (Cyrillic characters) branded Grained Salmon Caviar, sold in 95 gram cans with predominantly green labels with red and white text, best-before date codes of JUL 03 2020, JUL 15 2020, SEP 17 2020, OCT 07 2020, OCT 13 2020 and a UPC of 8 85202 00044 3

The original notification was for the same Caviar product but with a later best-before date code:

  • ИKPA (Cyrillic characters) branded Grained Salmon Caviar, sold in 95 gram cans with predominantly green labels with red and white text, a single best-before date code of OCT 07 2020 and a UPC of 8 85202 00044 3

According to the FDA, Awers has recalled the above-identified batch/lots of Grained Salmon Caviar products from the US marketplace because they may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Salmon Fish Egg products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Salmon Fish Egg Caviar products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to handle bacterial poisonings such as Botulism.
