According to Health Canada, in rare cases, the Carabiner’s Screwgate (the dark component seen in the above graphic) was incorrectly assembled. This defect can cause unpredictable unlocking when in operation, possibly causing the climber to fall from height. If this defect occurs, it can cause serious injury or death. As of July 26th, 2019, however, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Simond Rocky Screwgate Carabiners, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
