US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc., a Westlake Village, California establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of packaged Baby Spinach due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Baby Spinach products are subject to this recall:

  • Dole Baby Spinach, sold in 6-ounce cello bags with a batch/lot code of W20308A, a use-by date of 08-05-2019 and a UPC of 0-71430-00964-2. These recalled Spinach products were known to be distributed in the US states of IL, IN, KY, MI, NJ, NY, OH, TN, VA and WI.
  • Dole Baby Spinach, sold in 10-ounce clam shells containers with a batch/lot code of W203010, a use-by date of 08-05-2019 and a UPC of 0-71430-00016-8. These recalled Spinach products were known to be distributed in the US states of IL, IN, KY, MI, NJ, NY, OH, TN, VA and WI.

According to the FDA, Dole Fresh Vegetables has recalled certain batch/lots of packaged Baby Spinach due to suspected Salmonella contamination after a sample of Baby Spinach tested positive for Salmonella in a random sample test conducted by the Michigan Department of Agriculture. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Spinach identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Pet Foods, please do not feed them to your pet(s). Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. Wash down all prep surfaces, serving implements and serving bowls with a bleach/water mixture; rinse well with lots of hot soapy water.
