US FlagUS/Washington: Taylor Farms Inc., a Chicago, Illinois establishment, recalls an estimated 342 pounds of Meijer branded and generic Breaded Chicken products due to a processing defect that may have led to undercooking of Poultry products with consequential risks of bacterial infection, viral infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Breaded Chicken products were produced August 3, 2019 and are subject to this recall:

  • Meijer branded Parmesan Topped Chicken with Spaghetti, sold in 14.75-ounce sealed clear trays with batch/lot codes of TFIL215A001 and TFIL216A001 and use-by dates of 8/14/19 and 8/15/19
  • Meijer branded Homestyle Fried Chicken Dinner, sold in 12.5-ounce sealed clear trays with batch/lot codes of TFIL215A001 and TFIL216A001 and use-by dates of 8/13/19 and 8/14/19
  • Generic Homestyle Fried Chicken Dinner, sold in 9-ounce cardboard trays with plastic lids with batch/lot codes of TFIL215A001 and TFIL216A001 and use-by dates of 8/09/19 and 8/10/19

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, Taylor Farms has recalled certain batch/lots of Meijer branded and generic Breaded Chicken products due to a processing defect that may have led to undercooking of poultry products. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Chicken identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Meijer branded and Generic breaded Chicken products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
