US FlagUS/Washington: Bombardier Recreational Products trading as BRP US Inc., a Sturtevant, Wisconsin establishment, expands its existing recall for an additional 4,600 MXZ, Summit and Renegade Snowmobiles.

The original notification recalled an estimated 10,000 2017 Ski Doo MXZ, Summit and Renegade Snowmobiles due to suspected fuel leakage and consequential risk of fire, burns and/or property damage, all serious health and safety hazards. This update,

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain model year 2017 Ski-Doo MXZ, Summit and Renegade Snowmobiles equipped with an 850 E-TEC engines and sold in a variety of colors.

The brand, “Ski-Doo” and the specific model name can be found on the side panels of each Snowmobile while the individual vehicle identification number (“VIN”) is on the decal located on the right hand side of tunnel. The following Bombardier Snowmobile vehicles are included in the recall:

  • 2017 Ski-Doo Models
    • MXZ TNT 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in White/Black and Black
    • MXZ X 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black and Yellow
    • Renegade Adrenaline 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in White/Black and Black
    • Renegade X 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black; Orange
    • Summit SP 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Yellow/Black
    • Summit X 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black; Orange/White
  • 2018 Ski-Doo Models
    • MXZ Blizzard 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black/Yellow
    • MXZ TNT 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black;White
    • MXZ X 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black;Black/Yellow,
    • MXZ XRS 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black and Silver/Yellow
    • Renegade Adrenaline 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black and White
    • Renegade BC 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black and White
    • RENEGADE BCX 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black and Black/Green
    • RENEGADE X 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black and Black/Green
    • RENEGADE XRS 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black, Black/Green and Silver/Green

The previous notification called for the following Snowmobile vehicles to be recalled:

  • MXZ TNT 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in White/Black and Black colors
  • MXZ X 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black and Yellow colors
  • Renegade Adrenaline 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in White/Black and Black colors
  • Renegade X 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black and Orange colors
  • Summit SP 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Yellow/Black colors
  • Summit X 850 E-TEC Snowmobiles, sold in Black and Orange/White colors

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers such as VINs were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the fuel delivery system in the recalled Snowmobiles can leak fuel, posing a fire hazard. In the original recall, Bombardier had received thirteen (13) reports of fuel leaks and two (2) reports of fire. No injuries have been reported. The firm has received two (2) additional reports of fuel leaks bringing the total to fifteen (15). There are two (2) reports of fires. No injuries have been reported.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Snowmobiles, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact an authorized BRP Snowmobile dealer for a free repair. Snowmobiles is contacting all known purchasers directly.
