Itsu Veg Gyoza Recall [UK]

UK/London: Itsu (Grocery), a High Holborn, London, England establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Itsu branded Veg Gyoza due to undeclared Prawn Crustaceans, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Prawn Crustacean products are subject to recall:

• Itsu branded Veg Gyoza Dumplings, sold in 120 gram packages with a batch/lot code of LH283, and best-before date codes of 2019-12-11
• Itsu branded Veg Gyoza Dumplings, sold in 120 gram packages with a batch/lot code of LH293, and best-before date codes of 2019-12-14
• Itsu branded Veg Gyoza Dumplings, sold in 120 gram packages with a batch/lot code of LH302, and best-before dates of 12 December 2019, 29 January 2020 and 27 February 2020

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, this recall was initiated when it was suspected that the Itsu branded Veg Gyoza Dumplings may contain Prawn Crustaceans, an ingredient not declared on the product packaging.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Itsu branded Veg Gyoza Dumplings and could be allergic to their Prawn ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. You can also reach the company at the e-mail address and/or street address indicated below.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
