US FlagUS/Silver Spring: PreGel America, Inc. a Concord, North Carolina establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of PreGel branded Lemon 50 Powdered Flavoring due to undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Powdered Flavoring are subject to this recall:

  • PreGel branded Lemon 50 Powdered Flavoring, sold in 2 kilogram (4.4 pound) bags with eight (8) bags per case, a product code of 306038 and a batch/lot number of 381081U279N. The recalled Lemon 50 was produced on April 18, 2018 and has a best-before date of April 17, 2020.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after it was discovered that several units from the identified lot number tested positive for the presence of Milk and were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of Milk in the product. A subsequent investigation is ongoing.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Lemon 50 Powdered Flavoring and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
