UK FlagUK/London: ALDI Stores Limited, an Atherstone, Warwickshire establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of Specially Selected branded Key Lime Cheesecakes and Specially Selected branded Millionaire’s Cheesecakes due to possible glass container breakage and consequential risks of glass fragment contamination, choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following prepared Cheesecake Desserts are subject to recall:

  • Specially Selected branded 2 Key Lime Cheesecakes, sold in 170 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all production codes and use-by dates with a EAN/barcode of 4088600037844
  • Specially Selected branded 2 Millionaires Cheesecakes, sold in 180 gram packages; affected batch/lots: all production codes and use-by dates with a EAN/barcode of 4D8U00037851

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Cheesecake Dessert products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FSA, ALDI Stores has recalled all current batch/lots of Specially Selected 2 Key Lime Cheesecakes and 2 Millionaire’s Cheesecakes because the glass pots containing the products may break. This is a potential safety risk. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled prepared Cheesecake Desserts identified above.

In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled prepared Cheesecake Desserts, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Cheesecake products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
