Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Ming Fa Trading Co Pty Ltd, a Wetherill Park, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Crisp Cakes by Daoxiangcun due to undeclared Cashew Nuts and Walnuts, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Crisp Cake products are subject to this recall:

  • Crisp Cakes by Daoxiangcun (“Chinese Cake”), sold in 640 gram packages with a production date of 10/04/2019 and an APN/EAN of 693 5820212774

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to the presence of undeclared Cashew Nuts and Walnuts. You should neither serve nor consume these products if you are allergic to Cashew and/or Walnuts.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Crisp Cake Baked Goods and could be allergic to their Cashew Nut and/or Walnut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
