Ryki Sliced Edam Cheese Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Polish Trade Center Ltd., a Mississauga, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Ryki branded Rycki Edam Cheese Slices due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Edam Cheese Slices are subject to this recall:

  • Ryki branded Rycki Edam Cheese Slices, sold in 4.76 ounce plastic packages with a batch/lot designation of D30N / 300454 and a UPC of 5 902208 000811
  • Ryki branded Rycki Smoked Edam Cheese Slices, sold in 4.76 ounce plastic packages with a batch/lot designation of D30N / 300469 and a UPC of 5 902208 000828

According to the CFIA, Polish Trade Center Ltd. has recalled certain batch/lots of Ryki branded Edam Cheese Slices from the Canadian marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Cheese products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Edam Cheese Slices, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
