The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Pig Ear Treats are subject to this recall:

According to the FDA, the previous notification called for the recall of Pig Ear Treats shipped to US nationwide distributors and/or retail stores from May 1, 2019, to July 3, 2019. This expanded notification, however, now calls for all Pig Ear Treats for Dogs shipped to nationwide distributors and/or retail stores from November 1, 2018, to July 3, 2019.

Previously, Lennox was aware of at least two (2) incidents of its Pig Ears Treats causing dog Illnesses that might have been related to the potential Salmonella contamination noted during an ongoing FDA investigation of Salmonella illness, associated with what appears to be a multiple source. You can read our coverage about this nationwide outbreak here: https://wp.me/p2bVty-cFQ.

Lennox now confirms it is aware of cases of human illness related to the ongoing Salmonella outbreak because several people have identified Lennox Pig Ear Treats as the specific brand they purchased and handled. Individually shrink-wrapped product tested by FDA tested positive for Salmonella.

Please note: Lennox Pig Ear Treats have also been sold bulk unwrapped. Purchasers in these cases may not know the risk due to Salmonella contamination and possible illness.
