Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves Tristar Products branded Magnetic Trivets sold with Copper Chef 10-Piece Cerami-Tech Nonstick Cookware Sets and sold separately, as follows:

The recalled Magnetic Trivets attach to the bottom of hot metal cookware pieces, allowing them to be placed on tables. The Magnetic Trivets have four (4) magnets encased in silicone and come in copper, burgundy, blue and black colors. Each set includes an 11 inch square pot with glass lid, steamer tray, fry basket, 11 inch fry pan with glass press, 9.5 inch square pot with glass lid, a cookbook, and two Magnetic Trivets.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled products can be found on the Web site/sites listed above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the magnets within the Trivets can detach from the Trivets themselves. If this defect occurs, it poses ingestion hazards and oral injury hazards to children. Further, when two (2) or more magnets are swallowed, they can link together inside the intestines and clamp onto body tissues, causing intestinal obstructions, perforations, sepsis and death. Internal injury from magnets can pose serious lifelong health effects.

If a child swallows more than one magnet, the magnets can stick together across the walls of the child’s intestine or other digestive tissue, which can lead to internal injuries and even death. Ingested magnets may need emergency surgical intervention to remove.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Magnetic Trivets, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to handle choking, magnet ingestion and/or GI tract laceration damage.
