UK FlagUK/London: Tesco plc, trading as Tesco, a Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of Tesco Finest Fruit Presse Beverages due to suspected risk of fermentations, spoilage and explosion with risk of laceration and/or eye damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Fruit Presse Beverages are subject to recall:

  • Tesco Finest branded Sparkling Valencia Orange & Passion Fruit Presse, sold in 750 ml bottles; affected batch/lots: all batches with a best-before end date of March 2020
  • Tesco Finest branded Sicilian Lemon & Mint Presse, sold in 750 ml bottles; affected batch/lots: all batches with a best-before end date of March 2020
  • Tesco Finest branded Raspberry & Pomegranate Presse, sold in 750 ml bottles; affected batch/lots: all batches with a best-before end date of March 2020
  • Tesco Finest branded Apple & Elderflower Presse, sold in 750 ml bottles; affected batch/lots: all batches with a best-before end date of March 2020

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Tesco has recalled four (4) flavours of Tesco Finest Fruit Presse products because fermentation has occurred in some of the bottles. This is causing spoilage of the beverages, and may also cause the bottles to explode. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled beverages identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Fruit Presse Beverages, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, carefully return the drink products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to handle lacerations and/or eye injuries.
