Tower branded Six (6) Litre Stainless Steel Pressure Cookers, sold with a model designation of T90101 and type codes ASMB 22-6L, ASMB 22-3 L, ASMB 22-4.5L and ASMB 22-7.5 L with an EAN/UPC of 5055195872753.

The type of hazards presented in these recalled Stainless Steel Pressure Cookers include the possibility that the lid could be opened while the appliance is pressurized due to suspected inadequate closing mechanisms, leading to a deformation of Pressure Cooker structure.

Specifically, if this defect occurs, the cook or those nearby could suffer burns and/or scalds from the released steam. In another scenario, liquid can leak from the Pressure Cooker, extinguish the cooking flame of the hot plate or stove thereby releasing highly combustible natural gas into the kitchen or other cooking room. This ambient natural gas can reach sufficient concentrations in the room that a catastrophic explosion could occur if a spark or flame is present.

Please note: the photo at left pictures a Pressure Cooker model that may be slightly different than the recalled model. The recalled Cooker has a blue colored slider on the handle while the model in the photograph is equipped with a black colored device.

Due to these defects and their associated risks, these Tower branded Six (6) Litre Stainless Steel Pressure Cookers do not comply with the requirements of the relevant European Safety Standard EN 12778.

Accordingly, a recall of these products from end users and a withdrawal of the product from the market withdrawn from the European marketplace has been ordered.
