US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Logo - Green GiantGrowers Express, LLC (“GE”), a Salinas, California establishment, recalls multiple batch/lots of Green Giant branded Fresh Vegetable products due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, viral infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Fresh Vegetable are subject to this recall:

  • Green Giant Fresh branded Brussels Sprouts, sold at Big Y stores in two (2) pound packages with a batch/lot of BSC100103, an item SKU of 605806028076, a pack-date of 6/28/2019, a UPC of 190628-405839 and known distribution in Massachusetts.
  • Growers Express branded Cauliflower Florets, sold in Native Maine stores in three (3) pound packages with a batch/lot of CAC102102, an item SKU of 190627-405616, a best-by date of 7/11/2019, a UPC of 190627-405616 and known distribution in Maine.
  • Peak branded Green Beans, sold in Ruby Robinson (“PFG”) stores in five (5) pound packages with a batch/lot of BGC101105, an item SKU of 190627-405616, a pack-date of 6/25/2019, a UPC of 190625-405265 and known distribution in Maine.
  • Peak branded Cauliflower Florets, sold in Ruby Robinson (“PFG”) stores in three (3) pound packages with a batch/lot of CAC102105, an item SKU of 190628-405842, a pack-date of 6/28/2019, a UPC of 190625-405265 and known distribution in Maine.

According to the FDA, this recall was issued due to the potential for contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The products reportedly originate from a Growers Express production facility in Biddeford, Maine. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled vegetables identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Vegetables, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the vegetables to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
