UK FlagIreland FlagUK/London & Ireland/Dublin: Denny, a County Waterford establishment, and a division of Kerry Foods, an Egham, Surrey establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Denny Black Pudding due to suspected plastic fragment contamination and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Blood Sausage products are subject to recall:

  • Denny Black Pudding, sold in 199 gram tubes with a use-by date of 17 July 2019

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the FSA, Denny has recalled certain batch/lots of Denny Black Pudding due to suspected blue plastic fragments. The presence of these plastic fragment makes this product unsafe to eat. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Blood Sausage products identified above.

In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Denny Black Pudding, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Black Pudding to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
