Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Tasman Foods International Pty Ltd, a Springvale, Victoria establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Chan’s Yum Cha at Home Meals due to suspected incorrect packaging use-by dates and consequential risk of spoilage and possible bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Yum Cha at Home Meals are subject to this recall:

  • Chan’s Yum Cha at Home Vegetarian Shiitake Dumpling Meals, sold in 200 gram bowls with an APN/EAN of 9355683000443
  • Chan’s Yum Cha at Home Prawn Hargow Meals, sold in 200 gram bowls with an APN/EAN of 9355683000436
  • Chan’s Yum Cha at Home Sesame Prawn Toast Meals, sold in 238 gram containers with an APN/EAN of 9355683000474

According to the ACCC, this recall is due to non-compliant labelling, specifically incorrect use-by dates. Food products with an incorrect date marking may cause illness if consumed. Consequently, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Chan’s Yum Cha at Home Meals identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Chan’s Yum Cha at Home Meals, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
