Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Lactalis Australia Fresh Milk Recall [Australia], a South Brisbane, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of 7-Eleven Lite, Gippy Full Cream, Gippy Lite, Maxi Foods Lite, Pauls Professional Café Crema, Pauls Smarter White 2% Fat, Pauls Rev Low Fat 2L and Pauls Rev Low Fat branded Milk products due to suspected Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Fresh Milk products are subject to this recall:

  • 7-Eleven Lite branded Milk 2L, sold with a use-by date code 2 July 2019 and a UPC of 9315303001458
  • Gippy branded Full Cream Milk 2L, sold with a use-by date code 2 July 2019 and a UPC of 9344113001006
  • Gippy branded Lite Milk 2L, sold with a use-by date code 2 July 2019 and a UPC of 9344113001013
  • Maxi Foods branded Lite Milk 2L, sold with a use-by date code 2 July 2019 and a UPC of 9322613103024
  • Pauls Professional branded Café Crema Milk 2L, sold with a use-by date code 2 July 2019 and a UPC of 9315303001458
  • Pauls Smarter branded White 2% Fat Milk 2L, sold with a use-by date code 2 July 2019 and a UPC of 9310036039488
  • Pauls Rev branded Low Fat 2L, sold with a use-by date code 2 July 2019 and a UPC of 9310036000808
  • Pauls Rev branded Low Fat 1L, sold with a use-by date code 2 July 2019 and a UPC of 9310036000853

According to the ACCC, this recall is due to E. coli contamination. Food products contaminated with E. coli may cause illness if consumed. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Fresh Milk identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Fresh Milk, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Disposal of this product must be in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements to protect the drinking water supply and the ecosystem.
