US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Alma Pak, an Alma, Georgia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Walmart Great Value Frozen Blackberries and Save-A-Lot Tipton Grove Frozen Mixed Berries due to suspected Norovirus contamination and consequential risk of viral infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Frozen Blackberries and Mixed Berries are subject to this recall:

  • Walmart Great Value branded Frozen Blackberries, sold in 16 ounce bags with a UPC of 8742-431017 and known distribution in AZ, FL, GA, NC, PR, SC, VA and WV between 1/31-2019 to 5/31/2019 with the following batch/lots and expiry dates:
    • Batch/lot: AP1555 sold with an expiry date of 1/25/2021
    • Batch/lot: AP1640 sold with an expiry date of 3/07/2021
    • Batch/lot: AP1655 sold with an expiry date of 4/08/2021
  • Save-A-Lot Tipton Grove branded Frozen Mixed Berries, sold in 12 ounce bags with a UPC of 051933-34784-7 and known distribution in FL, NC, NY, TN and WI between 5/5/2019 to 5/15/2019 with the following batch/lots and expiry dates:
    • Batch/lot: AP 1700 sold with an expiry date of 4/22/2021
    • Batch/lot: AP 1700 sold with an expiry date of 4/23/2021
    • Batch/lot: AP 1700 sold with an expiry date of 4/24/2021

According to the FDA, Alma Pak has recalled certain batch/lots of Frozen Blackberries and Frozen Mixed Berries containing Frozen Blackberries due to suspected Norovirus contamination. FDA testing of Frozen Blackberries used in these products tested positive for Norovirus. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Blackberries and Mixes Berries identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Walmart Great Value branded Frozen Blackberries or Save-A-Lot Tipton Grove branded Frozen Mixed Berries, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Frozen Fruit products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
